Tour Itinerary

Day 1  


Late evening check-in at New York JFK Airport for a departure on an American Airlines nonstop flight to Tel Aviv, Israel. 

Day 2  


Late afternoon arrival in Tel Aviv at the Ben-Gurion Airport and transfer directly to the Stella Maris Monastery and Guest House on Mount Carmel overlooking the Mediterranean seaport and city of Haifa. Evening Mass in the Church built over the cave where the prophet Elijah lived. Overnight in Haifa.

Day 3 


A day to visit the sites connected to Our Lord’s ministry along the Sea of Galilee. Visit the Mount of Beatitudes, the ruins of Capernaum (the town where Our Lord stayed in the house of St. Peter's mother-in-law). Continue on to Tabgha to visit the site where Jesus first called the Apostles as they cast their nets in the Sea of Galilee. Here Jesus fed the crowd of 5,000 people from five loaves of bread and two fish. Visit the Church of the Primacy where Our Lord appeared to the apostles after His Resurrection and commissioned Peter to " Feed my lambs, feed my sheep". Afternoon boat-ride on the Galilee! Overnight on the Sea of Galilee.

Day 4 


A day excursion to Cana, Nazareth, and Mount Tabor! Visit the Church where the Lord performed His first public miracle at the Wedding Feast in Cana, turning water into wine.  Then continue on to Nazareth to visit the Basilica of the Annunciation built over the sacred grotto of the Incarnation. Also visit the nearby church built over the site of St. Joseph’s Carpentry workshop.  Later this afternoon, we will ascend Mount Tabor, rising high above the Jezreel Valley, to visit the Church of the Transfiguration! Overnight on the Sea of Galilee.

Day 5 


Morning check-out and departure south for Jericho with a stop at Our Lord's baptismal site on the River Jordan. Then on to Ancient Jericho, the oldest inhabited city in the world (dating back to 8000 BC) and site of the great Israelite battle, led by Joshua, marking the first conquest of the Canaanites on their return from bondage in Egypt.  Rising high above Jericho, you can see the Mount of Temptation, now an Orthodox Christian Monastery. Also see the Tree of Zacchaeus and visit the Franciscan Church of the Good Shepherd.  We continue on to Qumran National Park overlooking the Dead Sea to learn about the oldest known biblical manuscripts accidentally discovered in 1947.    Head west up into the Judean hills to Jerusalem for check-in at the Leaonardo Boutique Hotel (4 nights).

Day 6 


Spend the day in Bethlehem, the city of David. Visit Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity built over the birthplace of Christ. Bending low as we enter through the Door of Humility, we enter the Church and descend into the Grotto of the Nativity. Also visit the adjacent parish church of St. Catherine, and the Cave of St. Jerome (where this great saint and doctor of the Church lived in the 4th century and translated ancient scriptures in the Latin Vulgate.  Next, visit Shepherds Fields where the heavenly host of angels announced Our Savior's birth! Later this afternoon we will drive to the Mount of Olives, stopping at the Church of the Pater Noster, the Chapel of Ascension, and the Dominus Flevit Church (where Jesus wept over Jerusalem), and finally, the Church of All Nations (site of the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane). Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 7 


A full day in Jerusalem beginning with a visit to the Pool of Bethesda and Church of St. Anne built over the birthplace of the holy grandmother! From there we will walk along the Via Dolorosa stopping at the Church of Scourging and the Arch of Ecce Homo to finally arrive at the Holy Sepulchre, encompassing the Hill of Calvary, where Our Lord was crucified, where He died, was buried and resurrected. This afternoon visit the Western Wall, the Dormition Abbey and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu (house of Caiaphas). Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8 


Today we will have the awesome privilege of Holy Mass in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Later this morning we will travel into the hills outside of Jerusalem to Ein Keram, to visit the birthplace of Saint John the Baptist and site of the Holy Visitation between the Virgin Mary and her cousin Elizabeth. Here you can pray the Magnificat in all different languages.  Upon return to Jerusalem, we will visit the Israeli Museum to see a model of Jerusalem from the time of King David, and the Shrine of the Book containing the Dead Sea Scrolls.  Rest of the afternoon at leisure.  Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 9 


This morning check out of our hotel for a last but fulfilling day of pilgrimage to visit the ancient port city of Jaffa. Here we will visit St. Peter's Church and learn about the “Vision of Peter," where Tabitha was raised from the dead. Later this afternoon take a tour to the ancient ruins of Caesarea Maritime. It was here that St. Peter baptized the first Gentile, Cornelius who was a Roman Centurion. Mid-afternoon arrival at our hotel in Netayanya on the Mediterranean Coast – Medi Terre Hotel. Check in and rest before our farewell dinner.

Day 10 


Morning check-out and departure for the Tel Aviv Airport for a non-stop United Airlines flight to Newark (NJ).  Late afternoon arrival into Newark.
